Become an Election Worker

Requirements

• You must be registered to vote in Oneida County.
• You must be at least 17 years old.
• You can’t be an elected official or a candidate.
• You can’t be the spouse, parent, or child of a candidate in the district you are assigned to work.
• You must be available to attend a paid training class.

Pay

Election workers are paid for volunteering their time. The stipend is set by the Oneida County Board of Legislators.

• Training Class attendance – $50.00
• Inspector – $250.00
• Coordinator – $275.00
• Technical Inspector – $300.00

These rates are based on work for a full Election Day from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. or until all of the closing procedures have been completed. Please ask us about shorter half-day shifts, if you are unable to work the full day. We can’t promise that we can accommodate shorter shifts, but will try our best.
