How to Vote by Mail

Any registered voter may apply for an early mail or absentee ballot. Each person must apply for themselves. It is a felony to make a false statement in an application for an early mail or absentee ballot, to attempt to cast an illegal ballot, or to help anyone to cast an illegal ballot.

Request a Ballot

You can request an early mail or absentee ballot for yourself by filling out an application. You can request an application by calling (315) 798-5765 or emailing BoardofElections@oneidacountyny.gov. You can also apply:

  • Online using the request portal links provided below.
    • If you are visually impaired and require a ballot with accessible features, you may apply using the online Accessible Ballot Request Portal.

If you cannot pick up your ballot, you have the right to designate someone to pick it up for you. Only that person designated on your application may pick up and deliver your ballot.

Permanent Illness or Disability

If you are permanently ill or disabled, you have the right to receive an absentee ballot for each election permanently. Simply file an application indicating your reason as permanent illness or physical disability.

You will then automatically receive an absentee ballot for every election until your registration is canceled.
